Longing for Mars

To what extent does science fiction offer the opportunity to reflect on the present? And to what extent the past? The new issue of the German-Chinese science fiction magazine "Kapsel" presents the short story "Zhurong on Mars" by Regina Kanyu Wang, in which an AI goes in search of meaning on the Red Planet. Emma Braslavsky, on the other hand, searches for the abducted Sahra Wagenknecht in her book "Erdling" - and finds her on Mars. Why do we need fantastic stories today? What freedoms and restrictions does the genre offer? And why is Mars a place of human longing? The planetarium provides the right backdrop with images from its repertoire.
