Emma Braslavsky, born in Erfurt in 1971, has lived in Berlin as a freelance author and curator since 1999. Her debut novel, Aus dem Sinn, was awarded the Uwe Johnson Prize in 2007. Her story Ich bin dein Mensch (I Am Your Man) was the basis for Maria Schrader's film of the same name, which won four German Film Awards in 2022 and was selected as a German candidate for the Oscars.
