Double feature: concert (Franz Dobler & DasHobos) and lecture performance (Mascha Jacobs: Unknown Home)
The Hobos make music that sounds as much like a tool shed as it does like the wider world, a "contemporary railway soundtrack", but too relaxed for German train timetables. In combination with the live performance by writer Franz Dobler, a space of sound and thought is created in which rhythms continue into reflections and handmade groove meets quiet wit. In concert, Das Hobos & Franz Dobler present songs about pants, soap and riots, improvisations and a homage to the festival's namesake: "Who does the dirt and who does the laundry?" - that is the question. In the second part of the evening, Mascha Jacobs uses a text by Nava Ebrahimi to explore the home as a description of a space, in both the physical and spiritual sense: "Unknown Home". The question arises as to how and with whom one shares this space. With family, with like-minded people, with no one? How do we live and tolerate contact, access and demarcation? In order to organize the different uses of this place and to be able to lead one's own life in a self-determined way, spaces within spaces are created - rooms, boxes or even time spaces. The author and the performer encounter the "home" - in the secret as well as the uncanny.
