Nava Ebrahimi, born in Tehran, lives in Graz. She studied journalism and economics in Cologne, worked as an editor for the "Financial Times Deutschland" and the "Kölner Stadtrevue" and was a Middle East consultant for the German foreign trade promotion agency for several years. She was awarded the Austrian Book Prize and the Morgenstern Prize for her debut novel "Sechzehn Wörter". In 2021 she received the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize.
