The last day of the Brecht Festival marks the third anniversary of the racist attack in Hanau on February 19, 2020. The memorial is intended to enable people to gather and commemorate together:
The essayist Asal Dardan gives a speech that questions the social conditions for this and other attacks. The film documentation by Forensic Architecture reconstructs the day of violence in Hanau. The author Senthuran Varatharajah tells the story of the victims in a lecture performance: "Tell me where your arms are and when". A short film by Cana Bilir-Meier draws connections to other right-wing terrorist attacks.
The event will culminate in a discussion between all those present, moderated by Asal Dardan.
By and with: Asal Dardan, Senthuran Varatharajah, Forensic Architecture, Düzgün Polat (ZAM e.V.)
