Brecht and his family were often separated from each other for many months in exile in Denmark. Letters and postcards were the only way to stay in touch. Brecht was an avid letter writer. In 1938, he sent his son Stefan a particularly beautiful postcard with a Chinese motif. It shows six children rehearsing a theater scene with figures. For the Brechtfestival 2022, the Brecht Circle and the Brecht Office have invited Augsburg schoolchildren to develop a creative response to Brecht's postcard. The Brecht Festival will present a selection of the best works.
