On the one hand, humanity can be very proud of all the discoveries, artistic processes and overall development. At the same time, the world can also be ashamed of its crimes against itself. This has always been a theme in music and literature.
Many artists have dealt with the conflicts of their respective eras in their works. In this program, a selection of 20th century compositions for oboe and piano by Benjamin Britten, Pavel Haas, Nikos Skalkottas, Henri Dutilleux and Antal Doratí as well as texts by Bertolt Brecht will be dedicated to the theme of war and oppression.
