Veronika Maurer studied philosophy in Vienna and Paris and worked at the Burgtheater as an assistant dramaturge with René Pollesch and Christoph Schlingensief, among others. From 2011 to 2014, she worked at the Residenztheater in Munich, then at the Schauspielhaus Graz. From 2015 to 2020, she was a dramaturge at the Volkstheater Wien, where she supervised productions by Yael Ronen, Robert Gerloff and Jessica Glause, among others, and curated the discussion series "Volkstheatergespräche" with Corinna Milborn and guests as well as an annual festival with guest performances from Eastern Europe. Since 2020 she has been working as a freelance dramaturge, including in the independent scene in Vienna with Simonida Selimović / Romano Svato and Nina Kusturica, Imre Lichtenberger Bozoki and Johannes Schrettle as well as with Jessica Glause for her production "Bayerische Suffragetten" at the Münchner Kammerspiele. She has also been a dramaturge at the Brechtfestival Augsburg since 2022.
