Imme Kachel studied costume design at the University of Applied Sciences for Design in Hamburg. She then worked as an assistant set designer at Schauspiel Dortmund and Theater Krefeld / Mönchengladbach, where she created her first stage and costume designs.

From 2001 to 2006, she worked as an in-house designer at Theater Osnabrück. Since 2006, she has worked as a freelancer in all areas for many municipal and state theaters throughout Germany.
