Diedrich Diederichsen, born in Hamburg in 1957, was editor-in-chief of the music and pop culture magazine Spex in the 1980s. He also publishes texts in the Süddeutsche Zeitung, DIE ZEIT and taz, among others. After retiring from the Spex editorial team, Diedrich Diederichsen concentrated on his work in cultural theory and academia. Since 2006, he has been a professor of theory, practice and mediation of contemporary art at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
