Didem Balçın was born in Ankara on May 18, 1982. Her mother's side of the family is of Turkish and Albanian origin. She studied at Ankara University. After graduating, she moved to Istanbul and appeared in various commercials and TV series.

In 2003, she graduated from the Faculty of Language, History and Geography at Ankara University in the Department of Theater. Since then, she has acted in various plays. She has also appeared in many films and television series.
