Brecht Festival "Best of Poetry Slam"
24.02.2022
 19:00
"Bad times for poetry?" (Brecht) Quite the opposite. A poetry slam evening is the best time for poetry. And storytelling. And rap poetry. And comedy. And any other form of performed literature that goes straight from the stage to the ear. Four of the best poetry slammers in the German-speaking world have been invited to Augsburg for the Brecht Special: Meike Harms, Aidin Halimi, Mona Harry and Samuel Kramer. In the best-of format, they have not just the usual five, but ten minutes to make the audience laugh, cry or be amazed with their texts. One of the contributions will present the award-winning slammers with the task of referencing Brecht's Svendborg poems in their own style. The Viennese collective OMAi will visualize the poets' texts live with projection painting. The Berlin piano cabaret artist David Weber will perform as a musical act. This spectacle will be hosted by Johannes Elster, who will prepare a red carpet of wit and appreciation for all the artists, welcoming them to the stage in the Parktheater and bringing together the multi-layered elements of the evening. Special guests: The audience, whose applause will decide who wins this poetry competition.

With: Meike Harms, Aidin Halimi, Mona Harry, Samuel Kramer, OMAi, David Weber, Johannes Elster aka Hanz.
