Sophie Walz
Sophie Walz, born in Ulm, studied musical theater dramaturgy at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and the Bavarian Theater Academy August Everding.
In addition to internships at Theater Ulm and Bayerischer Rundfunk, she was dramaturgically responsible for "Così fan tutte" (director: Tatjana Gürbaca) at the Prinzregententheater and "Rise and Fall - Three Short Operas about the Promise and Curse of Absolute Power" - world premieres by Sidney Corbett, Pèter Köszeghy and Alejandro Viñao - at the A-DEvantgarde Festival. After completing her studies in 2009, she supported George Delnon's opera direction at the Schwetzingen Festival and worked as assistant to the artistic director at the Rossini Festival in Wildbad.

From 2010, she was dramaturge at the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau, where she supervised the choreographies of ballet director Tomasz Kajdanski as well as numerous opera productions. She has also repeatedly supported interdisciplinary projects such as "Landscape - Critique of Love" and collaborations with the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation. In 2014, she was awarded a scholarship by the Richard Wagner Association Dessau. From 2014 to 2017, she was head dramaturge for music theater, ballet and concert at Theater Plauen-Zwickau.
In the 2017/18 season, Sophie Walz took over the position of Head Dramaturg for Music Theater & Ballet at the Staatstheater Augsburg.
