Matthias Trippner, born in Hamburg in 1971, studied at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music from 1994 to 1999. He has already worked as a percussionist for the Paul-Brody-Octett (Los Angeles), Bürger Lars Dietrich (Potsdam) and Stefan Raab (Cologne) and has performed at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg and the Theater Forbach (France). This was followed by engagements as percussionist and/or pianist for theater productions at the Schaubühne Berlin and the Deutsches Theater Berlin, among others, as well as guest performances at festivals such as Avignon, Saarbrücken, Lyon and the Wiener Festwochen. He has been commissioned to compose for productions by Thomas Ostermeier and Tom Kühnel at the Schaubühne Berlin, the Maxim Gorki Theater, the Burgtheater and the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, among others.
