For 18 years, Matthias Nawo was not only a celebrated Winnetou actor at the South German Karl May Festival in Dasing, no, he also made a name for himself in the German country music scene as Matthew Daniels.

When he slipped into the costume of the legendary Apache chief for the first time in 2005, it was more by chance, as the intended actor had dropped out at short notice.

A special year for him as an actor was 2009, when he also appeared as Winnetou in the world premiere of "Captain Kaiman" at the Dasinger Freilichtbühne.

Matthias is currently the lead singer with the country band Delta-Line.
