Katharina Weissenborn studied at the Stuttgart State Academy of Fine Arts.

For ZDF, she realized free animated film productions and commissioned works in which she was responsible for the script, direction and image animation. This was followed by work as a director and costume designer for a music film production for Swiss television DRS. She has been invited to the following festivals with her film work: Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film, Mannheim International Film Festival, Kiev Film Festival.

She works as a costume designer for opera and drama at the Zurich Opera House, National Opera Helsinki, Thalia Theater Hamburg, Stuttgart State Opera, Schauspielhaus Bochum, Theater Basel, Theater Oberhausen, Theater Osnabrück, Theater Augsburg, Theater Lübeck, Staatstheater Hannover, Schauspiel Bonn, Nationaltheater Mannheim, Theater Bremen, Oper Halle, Schauspiel Köln, Schauspiel Stuttgart, Schauspielhaus Zürich, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Händelfestspiele Halle, Semperoper Dresden, Oper Frankfurt, among others. She has been invited to the following festivals with her works for the theater: Theatertreffen Berlin, Theatertreffen NRW, Norddeutsches Theatertreffen, Internationale Schillertage Mannheim, International Art Festival Beijing, U.T.E., Festival Turin.
