Joana Tischkau, born in Göttingen in 1983, is a choreographer, director and performer. She completed her bachelor's degree in dance and drama at Coventry University in the UK. In her Master's degree in Choreography and Performance at the Institute for Applied Theater Studies in Giessen, she researched how social urban dance practice and pop culture can be interwoven with intersectional feminisms and postcolonial theories in an artistic practice. Joana Tischkau stages and choreographs her own pieces; her artistic practice can be described as a hybrid jumble.
