Jana Schatz
The video artist Jana Schatz, born and raised near Wiesbaden, lives in Munich. She has worked with directors including Dieter Dorn, Elmar Goerden, Jörg Hube, Stefan Hunstein, Tina Lanik, Amélie Niermeyer, Jan Philipp Gloger and Johannes Schmid. From 2003 to 2011, she worked under the directorship of Dieter Dorn at the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel.
She has worked as a freelance videographer at the Ingolstadt Theater, Münchner Kammerspiele, Schauspielhaus Bochum, Salzburger Festspiele, Theater Basel, Oper Dortmund, Grand Théâtre de Genève and Theater Osnabrück, among others. Jana Schatz has designed several videos for Wolf Gutjahr's spaces. The play "Das Ende des Regens" at Theater Ingolstadt was awarded the prize for outstanding overall production at the 2013 Bavarian Theatre Days in Nuremberg. Another collaboration took place at Theater Osnabrück for the world premiere of Sidney Corbett's opera "San Paolo".
Jana Schatz also works as a film editor and director in the fields of museums, exhibitions, documentaries, advertising and image films. She has created videos for the Staatliche Antikensammlung München, the Glyptothek München, the Olaf Gulbransson Museum (exhibition "Trügerische Idylle", Tegernsee 1900-1945) and the reopening of the Monacensia Library Munich under the direction of Dr. Elisabeth Tworek (exhibition "Literarisches München zur Zeit von Thomas Mann"). Further video works (exhibition: "Die neue Heimat (1950-1982) - Eine sozialdemokratische Utopie und ihre Bauten") were shown at the TUM Architecture Museum in the Pinakothek der Moderne and at the Museum für Hamburgische Geschichte.
Her work has already been seen at the Staatstheater Augsburg in Jochen Biganzoli's production of "Faust - Margarethe".
