Ivan Demidov
Ivan Demidov was born in Chirchik (Tashkent) and grew up near Nizhny Novgorod. At the age of 14, he went to the Rimsky-Korsakov Music College in St. Petersburg and completed his training in music theory. He then began studying conducting at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory, from which he graduated in 2014.
From 2014 to 2017, he worked as a university teacher and solo repetiteur at the conservatory and conducted "Eugene Onegin" at the St. Petersburg Chamber Opera, among others. In August 2017, Ivan Demidov performed as a pianist at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro (Italy). He was one of three finalists at the 55th International Conducting Competition in Besançon (France, 2017).
From the 2017/18 season onwards, he was 2nd Kapellmeister at the Staatstheater Augsburg, where he conducted "Roxy und ihr Wunderteam", "Dalibor" and "Vier Jahreszeiten" as well as various concerts.
Ivan Demidov has been 1st Kapellmeister and Deputy GMD at the Staatstheater Augsburg since the 2019/20 season.
