Conjunctural Analysis Working Group
We are a group of cultural, social and political scientists from Germany, Austria and Switzerland who feel connected to the political theory project of Conjunctural Analysis and apply it in their own research. Developed in the early 1970s by the British cultural theorist Stuart Hall and his colleagues, the aim of Conjunctural Analysis is to understand how capitalist social formations and power relations change - in order to contribute to changing them. We meet annually, most recently as part of the Brecht Festival, to discuss current research projects on current political, cultural and economic developments and thus further develop the Conjunctural Analysis style of thinking together.
