Christina Jung
Christina Jung, born in Munich in 1991, studied acting at the Folkwang University of the Arts and at the Susan Batson Studio in New York. During her studies, she was supported by the German National Academic Foundation. For her studio production, she performed at the Bochumer Schauspielhaus. Since the 2016/17 season, she has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Deutsches Theater Göttingen for three years, where she was awarded the Young Talent Award in 2017. She has worked with directors including Christian Friedel, Moritz Beichl, Niklas Ritter, Erich Siedler and Antje Thoms.
She also ran the youth club and the experimental theater format "Nachtbar". In 2018, she co-founded the #rettedeintheater initiative and fought for the existence of cultural subsidies in Lower Saxony.
For the 2019/20 season, she worked as a freelance actress, including at Theaterdiscounter Berlin and in film and television productions. She also received a research residency from the Fonds Darstellende Künste in collaboration with TD Berlin and develops her own plays with dramaturge Hannah Baumann.
She has been a permanent ensemble member at the Staatstheater Augsburg since the 2021/22 season.
