Alois Schmelz (*1969) comes from Lower Bavaria. He worked as a qualified secondary school teacher for mathematics and physics and as a music teacher at a secondary school in Munich from 2000 to 2024, works as a composer, arranger and brass player and is a trained metal wind instrument maker. Since August 2024, Alois Schmelz has headed the folk music department at the Bayerischer Landesverein für Heimatpflege together with Sebastian Gröller and is studying musicology and sociology at the LMU in Munich.
