To help you plan your visit to the Brechtfestival, here is an overview with all the relevant information on accessibility according to the principle Getting there - Getting in - Getting around.

  • Ticketing
    • Guests with disabilities can book their tickets regularly in the webshop and choose between different ticket categories there.

    • A discounted ticket option is available for people with a severely disabled pass .

    • Wheelchair spaces can also be selected.

    • If you have the mark "B" on your severely disabled pass, you can book an accompanying person ticket free of charge.

    • People who are dependent on an assistance dog can usually also indicate this when purchasing a ticket.

  • Accompanying person

    Guests with disabilities who have a "B" on their disabled pass can bring an accompanying person free of charge to all events. For most events, you can book the free ticket for your companion directly in the webshop.

    For the following events, booking is not possible directly in our webshop:

  • Barrier-free arrival

    The Brecht Festival takes place at various venues in Augsburg. All venues can be reached barrier-free by streetcar or bus. The local public transport vehicles are equipped with ramps, which are located on the second door of the streetcar and bus. Here you will find an overview of the nearest stops and their accessibility:

  • Disabled parking space

    Official disabled parking spaces are available at the following venues, which you can use with the blue parking permit:

    • abraxas
      2 disabled parking spaces at the entrance

    • brechtbühne
      8 disabled parking spaces in the parking garage "Am Ofenhaus" directly opposite the brechtbühne (entrance height 2,10 meters)

    • Kleiner Goldener Saal
      1 disabled parking space directly opposite

    • S-Planetarium
      Disabled parking spaces in the Ludwigstraße multi-storey parking lot | approx. 110 meters away (entrance height 2 meters)

    • Stadtbücherei
      2 disabled parking spaces on the 8th floor in the Ernst-Reuter-Platz multi-storey parking lot | approx. 70 meters away | entrance height 2 meters | please note, this parking garage is closed on Sundays and public holidays

    • Staatliches Textil- und Industriemuseum (tim)
      2 disabled parking spaces in front of the museum

    • Holbein Gymnasium
      You can use the teachers' parking space here, please contact the event team after parking

    There are no disabled parking spaces available in the immediate vicinity of the venues Karo [10], martini-Park, Nachsorge Zentrum, Provino and SchwabenEck.

Get in
  • Assistance dogs

    Certified assistance dogs and guide dogs for the blind are welcome at all events. In the Webshop you can usually specify your dog when booking your ticket.
    This is not possible for the following events. Of course, you are still welcome to bring your assistance dog with you: "Dreigroschenoper", "Hamletmaschine", "YOU SHOW YOU", "Blödes Bild", "Bezirk serviert Brecht"

  • Access Friends

    Our Access Friends are available before, during and after the performance to answer any questions about accessibility. You can recognize them by their purple vests.

  • Wheelchair-accessible environment

    The Brecht Festival takes place at various venues. All venues are barrier-free. More information can be found at Spielorte.

Get around
  • Places for wheelchair users

    As a rule, you can book seats for wheelchair users in our Webshop. Please contact us if you will be attending the event with more than one person and would like to sit together as a group. We can make this possible at various venues if you book in advance.

  • Barrier-free toilet

  • Audio description

    Audio description is offered at selected events. This is a spoken description of the image that describes visual elements such as gestures, facial expressions, stage design or costumes.

    • "Bauchgefühl" on March 6, 2026 at abraxas

    • "Unser Deutschlandmärchen" on March 8, 2026 at martini-Park

  • Touch guidance

    We offer a tactile tour at selected events. Participants can get to know and touch the stage and props of the play in advance.

    A tactile tour is offered at the following events:

    • "Die Dreigroschenoper" on 06.03.2026 in the martini-Park

    • "Bauchgefühl" on 06.03.2026 in abraxas

  • Interpreting in sign language

    At selected events, we offer translation into German sign language or sign language is integrated into the play. Seats with a good view of the interpreters are marked on site.

  • Supertitles and subtitles

    Subtitles reproduce the spoken text in the specified languages. They do not provide any additional information about sounds and music.

    Subtitles are provided for the following events:

    • "Four walls and a roof" on 07.03.2026 at brechtbühne

  • Inductive hearing system

    In the "Kleiner Goldener Saal", in the "martini-Park", in the "brechtbühne" and in the "abraxas" events with inductive hearing systems take place.
    At the "brechtbühne" and in the "martini-Park", prior registration is required at tickets@staatstheater-augsburg.de.

  • Content Notes

    Some screenings deal with sensitive and potentially incriminating topics. To enable you to make an informed decision about attending a performance, we draw your attention to this content in advance with so-called content notes. You can find these content notes in the respective event descriptions on our website.

  • Strobe light

    Please note: strobe lighting will be used at the following events:

    "WOLF" on 01.03.2026 at abraxas

    "War Games" on 05.03.2026 at martini-Park

    All other events are without strobe lighting.

  • Relaxed Performance

    The performance Bauchgefühl on 06.03.2026 at abraxas will take place as a Relaxed Performance. This means that movements and noises in the audience area are expressly permitted. You can take a break at any time, leave the auditorium and come back again. There are beanbags in the front row for you to sit on. You can sit, lie down or change seats during the performance. Babies and children are welcome. The term "Relaxed Performance" refers to the atmosphere in the auditorium, not the content of the event.

  • Family-friendly environment

    In our Festival Center at Karolinenstraße 10 there is a café with play facilities. Families are welcome to come here and take a break from the hustle and bustle of the festival. There is no obligation to consume.
