One evening, four stages, ten concerts and a marching band that brings everything together. The Brecht Night's mix of styles allows EVERYONE to immerse themselves musically. In the textile quarter and the festival center, night owls can feel Brecht's attitude to life.

Brechtnacht presents contemporary pop music that is critical of the times, ranging from indie pop, post-punk, hip-hop, jazz, spoken word and soul - and not only that. With Deaf Performance, individual contributions are also brought to life for a non-hearing audience. The MUSIKONG BUMBONG EXPANDED MARCHING BAND PROJECT accompanies the audience from place to place. The evening thus ties in seamlessly with this year's festival motto "ALL" and presents itself as an inclusive concert event of diversity.

Program
  • 20:00 ACHT EIMER HÜHNERHERZEN (tim)

With drums, bass and vocals, the Berlin trio refine their very own style between "nylon punk" and "powerviolence folk".

    Nylon string punk

  • 20:30: Sophia Kennedy (martini-Park)

Baroque songwriting, experiments with electronic music, hip-hop grooves, lots of humor and haunting vocals - that's what Sophia Kennedy stands for. The singer, composer and producer cannot be pigeonholed. Born in Baltimore and raised in Germany, she has been shaking up the experimental music scene between Hamburg and Berlin for some time now and is also one of the most unconventional voices in the current pop landscape.

    Between pop, art and theater

  • 20:30: NENDA (Provino)

Tyrolean, Londoner, wallflower and boss bitch - Nenda has many facets. And she shows them too: as a serial actress in films and as a rapper live on stage. KRRRA is the title of her latest album. In it, she explores questions of identity and society - with a lot of humor and heart.

    Rap

  • 9:45 pm: SORVINA (tim)

In her adopted home of Berlin, the New Yorker is regarded as one of the most exciting new voices on the alternative hip-hop scene. Jazz rap, neo soul and gospel merge to create a musical safe space for ALL.

    Hip-Hop

  • 21:45: O'CHAVO PRETZLIE (martini-Park, Foyer)

With harmonica, saxophone, clarinet, guitar, double bass and the unmistakable raspy voice of Silvano Kreuz, the trio creates an experience that you won't soon forget.

Sinti blues, blues and Elvis Presley covers

  • 22:00: THE MANIC MAGAZINE (Provino)

Loud, provocative, playful - with electronic beats, distorted sounds and Dadaist-inspired lyrics, Das Manische Magazin from Augsburg combines punk energy with complexity. Powerful guitars, driving electronic instruments and radical stylistic breaks are the order of the day.

    Post punk

  • 22:30: THE HIGHEST RAILWAY (martini-Park)

The four-piece Berlin band combines social analysis with melancholy depth and subtle humor. The result is a bittersweet dialog with everyday life.

    Indie pop

  • 23:00: DAS KINN (Provino)

With electronic beats, wild sounds and unusual lyrics, Das Kinn lead their audience through dark soundscapes. Energetic, loud, idiosyncratic and full of surprises.

    Crossover between decay and energy

  • 11:15 p.m.: JOSHUA IDEHEN (tim)

Poet, singer and songwriter Joshua Idehen is a wanderer between genres. With his fascinating mixture of spoken word and electronic sounds, the British-Nigerian artist addresses questions of society and identity.

    Spoken Word / Electronica

  • 00:00 Uhr: AFTERSHOW SONALIE SOLAR (Provino)

Latin Afro / Tech House / Funk

  • 02:00 Uhr: AFTERSHOW maksi (Provino)

Artistically radical, unconventional to the max, pop and absurd - that's Brezel Göring and Psychoanalyse. Musically, they move between chanson, punk, electro, jazz and sound experiments. In this way, interpersonal abysses come to light poetically, ironically and comically.
